IMO, your security issues have nothing to do with that jack, but more to do with the sites you visit, and the security applications you run.

I don't have a way to change my IP address, other than powering down my gateway for longer than the ISP lease time. I can also go into my Verizon FiOS supplied router and release the IP address, wait some and renew it. That will sometimes change the address.

There is no earthly reason that changing your address will add anything to your security anyway. Hackers don't target a specific address, they scan thousands of addresses in an address range.
Did you see the picture of the NID? There are 4 wires, two blue and a yellow and a black. Anyway, I have been informed by an ISP that my computer which was only hardwired had been interfered with by my neighbor's wireless network. I cannot believe that, but that is what he put in writing.

It isn't a matter of "If I am being hacked" It is a matter of how do I stop it. I had the top IT man at DARPA, explain that it wasn't their system communicating with me, but my network appeared to be hacking into theirs, and some others. He said it could be a spam bot, however, since most hackers don't hack the individual, but miscellaneous it is obviously an intentional denial of service. This I am sure of, since about 4 ISP's have all been interfered with. From Dialup - Cable - U-Verse. Nothing changes, not new hard drives, new computers, building one from scratch, wireless or hardwired, they all get infected. It is a relentless criminal mind in charge of the interference. About 4 years, so I cannot leave any RJ-11 unchecked, as I had phone line interference with two wiretaps in 2005.

I understand that corruption comes from a variety of ways. I have studied this for years and will help anyone with whatever I can.

You are right that MOST Hackers do not target an IP Address, however if you happen to have a specific hacker who does, well a constantly changing IP is your best line of defense!

Thanks for your asisstance. Cute little icon you have there!
