Try replacing the RAM first. Use a new or good/working RAM module. If that does not help, strip the laptop down to motherboard, LCD, RAM and power ON switch. Remove everything else. Power ON the laptop or whatever is left of it. If symptoms persist, then it could be the motherboard.
