I checked those links too, the first link, all those solutions fail for me. I can't access the pc recovery program or disc creation from windows or from F11 or whatever. I don't have recovery CD's and I can't even send for them now because that part of the HP site is under maintanence. I can't even re-format because it uses the same recovery program that fails. I do have some of those issues that the second link provided, but my regular warranty is out and I'll do that if/when/ever I fix this current problem, so thanks for that at least.
