Update with resolution:

I ended up taking this to a repair shop to see if they could give me any more specifics before I did anything, and it turns out the problem was the PSU.

They weren't sure exactly what was going on with it. It may have just been faulty since 1000W should have been enough another idea is that the PSU wasn't getting enough airflow (the fan was partially obstructed >< but that's now fixed) and had some overheating problems that partially fried it.

Either way I replaced with with a 1200W Thermaltake and all seems well.
