Not sure what you meant here.. are you asking if i have tried to raise the voltage up from 1.8v to a max of 1.95 (the max supported by ocz)?
I have tried 1.80 through 1.92 (various values in between)..
None of these changes helped with getting to 1600mhz
Recap, since this has been one long mess:
So far:
1333mhz.. had those bluescreens, ran at 1333 fsb.. tried various voltages and bios settings... (3 days ago)
1600mhz: couldnt get past say booting the linux live cd, it would freeze.. tried various bios settings, skews, voltages
more recently:
updated to beta bios on asus board.. cleared cmos, started over:
-------
1333mhz: set everything to auto except voltage on ram and timings on ram, using 1.8v, also unplugged all usb devices except kb and mouse and disabled D drive harddrive array on 3ware card..
results so far:
set fsb to 1600mhz, cpu to 3.6ghz, ran linpack test, custom mode of 20 tests, passed, ran linpack test, max stress test, 10 tests, 1 failed
set fsb to 1600mhz, cpu to 3.0ghz, ram still at 1333, ran linpack test, max stress, 10 tests, PASSED, running again right now, results pending... no bluescreens with solid runtime of 1.4 days, but all usb devices still unplugged and D array offline.. just now plugged back in usb devices, awaiting any bluescreens..
So, it seems i cant run the cpu at 3.6ghz without errors (or an error) in linpack test... i certainly cant achieve 1600mhz as of yet..
Still debating whether i would be able to hit 1600mhz if i had 1333 native ram, more easily or would this even matter...
