Re: Virtumonde.prx keeps coming back, can't turn auto windows updates on
I don't use McAfee. All the AVs I use, you can exit from the system tray icon.
See if there's some other option on the system tray icon that seems to fit the need, or from within the application interface.
What version of McAfee are you using? See if this applies:
# Double-click the taskbar icon to open McAfee Security Center
# Click Advanced Menu (bottom mid-left)
# Click Configure (left)
# Click Computer & Files (top left)
# Disable VirusScan in the right-hand module and select "Never" when asked for resume time.
# Click Internet & Network (top left)
# Disable Firewall in the right-hand module, again select "Never" when asked.
Reenable after ComboFix is done, by reversing the above steps.
Otherwise, boot into Safe Mode, and perform the steps in Safe Mode. If ComboFix reboots the machine as part of it's process, reboot back into Safe mode and allow ComboFix to complete it's routines. Once a log has been created, boot back into normal mode, and post the requested logs.
To boot into Safe Mode:
Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Login on your usual account. Make sure to close any open browsers.
