HP DV2000 shutting off instantly
Hello,
I'm new to this so I hope I give enough info for help. My computer took a hard fall off a sofa arm onto some tile. At first, no real damage noticed as the computer was still on. But later my computer shut off while on battery power, and by shut off I mean in a blink of an eye (no powerdown), and then it automatically turned back on (in another blink) and started to boot up. I plugged it in thinking the battery connection was jarred loose from the fall, but when the laptop was slightly jostled from the bottom, it shut off again instantly and then began to reboot. It will do this anytime I bump it from the bottom. I've noticed that the DL lightscribe dvd player is loose. It is very hard to eject the drive at all and it no longer is working even when I can get a dvd in. If I bump the drive enough, the computer will shut down and reboot instantly. I tried to remove the bottom of the computer to see inside and I got worried I was going to break something without any instructions so I stopped.
The computer works fine other than that rather large glitch, so I'd like to try and fix it if possible. It makes it hard to be mobile when it can just shutoff by carrying it. I'll take it apart myself to view inside but I need some solid instructions on doing it without breaking it.
Any ideas on what might be wrong and if it is fixable? Pointing me to instructions on disassembling would be great too.
