Re: setting a start up password 10.4

Youll find those settings in the Accounts preference pane in the System Preferences. Once you open it click on the user and make sure that a password is set. Then there will be a button named Logon Options, there you can the Mac to show the login screen which would require you to enter the password to get to the desktop.
