Hi, I'm having the exact same problem... except prior to attempting power up, I had to change like 20 capacitors on the mother board (ax45-v/961 chipset)... the only difference during power up is that it makes a very high pitch sound(like a capacitor charging in a camera) all capaciors were replaced with same value(except temperature rating 105c replaced by 85c) now I'm not certified to do such operations but it doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing... I'm going to attempt running it "out of the box" as you mentioned

meanwhile here are the remainder of the specs Aopen ax45-v with a P4 1.7ghz/256/400/1.75v and an ATI radeon9250 video card powered by a 420w... is the temp rating the cause of the high pitch sound...?
jack of all trades in need of master's opinion
