It is entirely possible that the Toshiba software is not getting along with MagicJack, but there are also possibilities that the computer might have malware that attaches itself to processes involving a net connection. Do programs that do not require an internet connection also crash?

If you go ahead and do a re-format with a fresh copy of windows, that would most likely solve a lot of problems getting to start from scratch, just be sure to download all of the computer model's drivers before you commit to the task of reformating.
