I'm on a laptop running Vista Home Premium, no optical mouse, no external anything, and the mouse is jumping all over the place. I primarily use this system for email and it takes 20 attempts to get through typing an email. I've got McAfee running, so shouldn't be any crud on the system.

What am I missing? Is there a simple fix to this? I've searched forums and not seen a clear, concise answer for this.
