yes i was able to get the metal piece that the battery actually sits on, i got the other end of it soldered back into its place on the motherboard... no juice getting to the computer though.

(someone told me that the internal battery only matters for the clock, etc and is not essential for computer use, is this true?) I really hope I can get my laptop going again as I don't want to have to invest in a new one.
