what i am thinking at the moment is thru your need to rid your system of the infection that you may have corrupted the drivers for your onboard audio

with some infections they take specialized tools to remove them safely & if you do not use those tools then they can render certain function of your sysem useless / unopertable / non functioning

so i would look for the motherboard drivers and reinstall them / i would do this in safe mode

for in safemode your system will have everything shut down and only the bare minimum will be being used

then i would reinstall the drivers for your audio

this i would also do in safemode


doing this in safemode will enable your system the ability to write the paths & codes that it needs to the proper devices

to enter safemode

when you start your system you need to start tapping the (F8) key untill a screen is shown that gives you many options

select ( safemode) only

now do you know your way around the ( bios) ?

you might need to check to see if your setting in there have not been change due to the removel of the infection & the updates that you & the tech did when you had help reinstalling youe os while it was under warrenty

you will want to be looking in the advanced setting

see if it is set for ( onboard / auto / pci / manuel / ect ...) it should be set for auto for this will let the motherboard auto deteck the device that you are useing
