[SOLVED] Restoring Vista Problems: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error

I recently bought an HP M8047 TV PC from a friend of mine. He told me that all I needed to do was to restore the computer to the factory settings and would work perfectly. He provided me with recovery discs that he made with Verbatim DVD+R discs.
When I turn on the computer, a black screen comes up with a message saying "Disk boot failure, Insert system disk and press enter"...So I inserted the Recovery Disk and the Recovery Manager began to kick in. However, after I click "YES" when asked if I want to restore the computer to factory setting an error message appears...

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program:X:\windows\system32\RESTORE7.EXE
abnormal program termination

After this appears, the computer restarts and the same thing happens over and over again. Also, on the blue HP screen at the initial start of the computer, the computer does not recognize me hitting the F11 key to go into system recovery. It does recognize the F10 key for Setup and the ESC key for the Boot Menu.

Is it possible that the recovery disks that were made are faulty and I just need to order them from HP? Please help if you have any ideas.
