I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue that has a transmission problem. Occasionally after driving on the highway for 20 minutes and slowing down or stopping, when I restart it feels like the torque converter is stuck engaged. This will set a check engine fault code of P0742 torque converter stuck on. I can stop and turn the car off for a minute and restart and all is well until next time. Would putting something like Lucas Trans medic in and then changing the fluid and filter help this problem?
