Re: I have a Sony VGN-C240E mainboard with Intel T5500. Possible to use as desktop?

No, no. There's some miscommunication. My bad. So I have the mainboard and the processor because they replaced it at Sony and I asked them to return the "bad" parts to me. When I sent it off, the mainboard was still working but I just couldn't get power to it. I've heard that you can solder this small connection back together and it can work just fine. My problem is that all I have is the mainboard and processor. All the other parts are still in the laptop.

I want to know if anyone knows how to solder that piece and how I could connect this laptop motherboard to a power supply or something to get it working. The DC input module was not returned to me (if they changed it out) and I don't know enough about laptop mainboards to figure this out. Any help would be appreciated even if you can just point me in the right direction.
