Hello Chemist,

I followed your steps, but ran into some problems.

Disable Spybot's TeaTimer: I unchecked the "Resident TeaTimer active" box, but when I clicked the "System Startup" icon in the List, there was no "TeaTimer" box to uncheck.

Recovery Console: When I dragged the setup package onto ComboFix.exe, the blue box appeared, but the "What's next?" pop-up box never appeared. I also could not find the ComboFix.txt log on my computer. I think the Recovery Console was installed, but the scanning didn't take place.

HijackThis: I deleted the outdated version of HJT and Carli.exe, and downloaded the updated version of HJT. But, I did not run a new HJT scan since I thought it best to first get the above problems resolved.

Please let me know how to proceed.
