OS: ubuntu linux

problem, pc won't start!

Hi,
I was serfing the web a couple of hours ago, when suddenly the pc just froze. the only thing i could do is to hard boot it.
when booted the PC, before the OS started the there was a message that said something like : "The CPU has changed....." (the rest i can't remember); there were two of the standart options:
F1 to continue or
DEL to enter the bios settings.
nothing worked, no matter what i pressed. when i pressed reset again, the screen was on standby mode (power save), and the HDD light near the reset button was ON all the time. I've tried to reset a few more times but it didn't help.
Then i swapped the hard drive with another one i had, the HDD light was normal now but the PC screen was still on power save mode, so there's nothing much i can do, I can't even enter the bios settings.

I even tried it on a different screen, still the same symptoms. it's like the fans are on but everything else is off!

what can i do????
