Computer has run fine for just shy of a year, then died and refused to boot up to post.
If left for a day it would boot up for around 10 mins then instantly shut down, after which it couldn't be booted.
Spec:
ASUS M2N32-Sli Deluxe mobo
AMD 64x2 6000+ CPU
Corsair 6400 2x1GB Ram
Gigabyte 8600GT 256mb Graphics
Antec 450W PSU
Obviously I first suspected the power supply so bought a 600W which seemed to work for a couple of days then back to same old problems. Took out graphics card, sound card etc but no improvement.
Took system to local shop who said the original PSU was faulty as the rear fan wasn't working. They also said the motherboard was faulty.
They claimed to have tested everything else with no problems. RMA'd motherboard and got replacement. Also bought another "as new" board as wasn't sure of time RMA would take.
Have tried out both boards and same problems persist. Have replaced ram with Kingston but still no improvement. Have also bought new keyboard.
Turns out the original power supply was probably okay (psu was "silent" so rear fan only came on when hot...) so it seems the shop took £50 of my cash for bugger all.
Starting to think the worst and blame the cpu as that's the only consistent component, but wanted further opinions first.
Any ideas?! Please help! Thanks....
Oh, forgot to mention the fans all come on when I try and boot the computer, but there's no beep, if that helps?!
