Re: Laptop automatically shutting down
Hi,
A few things to check... - Operating temperature. If you are reaching 70deg C you can be on the high side and thus could be overheating at times. Make sure your vents and heatsink are free of dust and any obstruction.
- Run hard drive diagnostic utility. D/load the appropriate tool (see HDD Diagnostic Tools link on my sig) per the brand of the HDD you are using. If hard drive passes the test with flying colors, run CHKDSK /R using an XP install CD.
- Run SFC /SCANNOW in command prompt.
- Run Memtest86+ to test your RAM. Test the RAMs individually at 2 passes each. Or you can run the test overnight.
