Thanks JC. I have turned firewall back on. I disabled it because my router is firewalled.
I have uninstalled superantispyware and turned defender back on, although the former does seem to pick up more than defender. I have downloaded Avira antivirus, but not installed it as yet. I will wait for your final diagnosis, but no rush please, I know you must be busy
