The only other diagnostic you could possibly carry out is installing it in another system to see if it works.
A Firmware update may solve the problem, but they are risky. You need to know what you're doing and of course there has to be an update available. |

I have tried it in another computer and still no burn on a dvd+rw disk. nero sent me an upgrade and i deleted every files on this thing and install the newer update and still the same. No i will not buy another HP product at all and i had a chance last Friday to buy a computer off this person and it was a HP just for 25.00 cause he just got a new one and it alone was just 13 months old with a 200gb hd and 1 gig of memory and it ran good and i know i should have gotten it and use the parts but i was a fool but it was an HP so i stopped right there. Thinks for you help.
