Flashing a bios is like playing Russian Roulette.
One little slip and you've got yourself a real nice door stop, or paper weight.
If a manufacturer is providing a BIOS update, they will always provide the installer for it too. The installer and new bios .bin file will be in a Zipped package, for easy download.
In the past, the package will include a Floppy Disk builder to create a boot disk from which the Bin file installer will run.
The whole process is iffy enough for an experienced technician, but for a casual user, it's fraught with pitfalls and possible Disaster.
If updating the BIOS is an absolute necessity, take the computer to an experienced technician to have it done.
Cheers mates!
