Alrighty, i gave this a go but couldnt see any problems with anything except a high speed USB composite device which i updated. Soon after explorer.exe crashed again so i dont think that was the issue.

I ran wercon.exe and saw that there was a problem caused by 'NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management'. Which was my old motherboards drivers. Exact problem:
This problem was caused by a compatibility issue between this version of Windows and NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management.
This seems like it could be the problem but im not sure how to uninstall old mobo drivers. There is an option to uninstall all NVIDIA drivers, but i would assume that would include my graphics card drivers which is also an NVIDIA product.

• Reliability and Performance Moniter:

I ran perfmon but found that the only failures (Hardware, Windows, Application or Misc) were the explorer.exe failures, eg:
Code:
Explorer.EXE 6.0.6001.18000 Stopped working 16/07/2008
Explorer.EXE 6.0.6001.18000 Stopped working 16/07/2008

I could find the explorer.exe crashes in eventvwr.exe but they didnt seem to follow any sort of pattern. It just crashes randomly.

Also, run the Windows Vista System File Checker/Repair utility program.
START | type cmd into the Start Search box | right-click on cmd.exe that appears up top | select Run as Administrator | A command prompt (DOS) screen will appear. Type the following - note there is a space after sfc -
sfc /scannow
|
After running sfc /scannow i looked at the CBS report file and it seems (from what i could tell, which isnt a whole lot

) that there is a problem with Microsoft speech engines or something along those lines, i can upload the CBS report file if that would be more help.
It would seem to me, that i need to uninstall my old motherboard drivers (Nforce 630i) and possibly reinstall my new motherboard drivers (Intel DP35DP)
Thanks in advance, Beej.
