recently installed an MSI K8N Neo4-F motherboard with on-board sound. I had to go through Realtek to get the latest sound drivers available for Windows Vista (my OS), and the tuning picks up my music files and sound effects, but I don't get any sound from my output device. I've tried multiple devices and switching around slots. My microphone registers fine, however, and friends over a VOIP program were able to hear me speak with them, though I couldn't hear them.

I'm wondering if this sounds like defective drivers or maybe a defective motherboard.
