gateway uses standard atx cases you should be fine there

for the money I would say Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R and E8200 or E8400 CPU

The E8400 will overclock from its stock speed of 3.0ghz to 3.6ghz without the need of increasing the cpu voltage ......... the increase in cpu voltage is what has the potential to shorten the life span of the cpu depending how wild you get with that ?
