I bought my PC from Best Buy, it's a Gateway.

How come I can't change the multipliers on my Mobo or overclock my CPU with any software or anything?

My board is an ECS MCP61PM-GM 2.1

Serial Number: OEM
Bus Clock: 1 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 11/26/2007

Can anyone help? Is there some CD or BIOS flash, or CPU unlock to just squeeze my phenom 9600 from 2.3 to 2.5?
Would buying a 9850 help?
