Hi Brook,

My advice remains to uninstall McAfee and replace with some of the very good free programs out there. These package deals invariably put an unneccessary strain on system resources. Much better to use seperates. McAfee site advisor is a cool tool, i use it myself, as for the rest i'm not sure.

If you prefer to keep the security suite then i suggest that you try turning off real time protection of CA Pest patrol, there may be a conflict which could be slowing things down.

I have just read that if you haven't parted with your hard earned cash yet, you won't be able to turn off real time protection, therefore if it is only a trial version, uninstall it. You should still be protected by McAfee.
