I would try the HDD in a known good PC before sending it back - perhaps one of the local PC places could do that for free (they only have to check if it's clicking).

Yea my local pc shop the owner just died so one of the guys bought it off his wife and he's not organized but he does great work. Ill run there tomorrow and have him check it out if he claims broked Ill go right the the ups store to see what brown can do for me.
