Repaired the registry with what? Only qualified Technicians, or those who truly are a fountain of knowledge should do anything with the registry!! Microsoft even suggest to their Techs not to mess with it, as it can kill a lot of functions, to the point nothing works.
If you have a windows disk, put it in, reboot, wait for the menu to appear after it loads all the drivers, and press R.
You will be taken to the Recovery Console....type

chkdsk drive: /p /r

where drive: is your drive letter.
This may take a while, but should find any physical issues with your drive.
Once complete, post back and tell me how it goes.
