Thanks, sobeit - but that does NOT work. After making the change in the registry, verifying it, and then rebooting, the Numlock light - as before - is turned on by BIOS, but then goes out during the loading of Vista.

And what's more, the value of InitialKeyboardIndicators has been reset to 0 !

Any further suggestions ?
