My first question is are you using a video card, or just the onboard video? I ask this becuase DSL might not like your video card.
As for how to add screenshots, there might be a program that allows you to take shots, then save them. I am not sure as I haven't used DSL.
There is an easy way to get rid of windows if you so choose, you can just delete your windows partition and either combine it with your linux partition or create a new partition. I am sure that DSL has a partitioning program, but I like
gparted if there isn't one. However, I would wait on this until you get your screen problems taken care of.
