Ok, here is my dilemma. I want to get this (
Hauppauge HD PVR) so I can record in HD off my component video feed. But after looking at the minimum system requirements, I am a bit worried that my computer wont be able to use this. Its a pretty old computer with nothing fancy at all, but I have in the past been able to run 720p HD video with no problems. I have already e-mailed the company, but yet to get any response. So I am hoping you guys can help.
Here is what I am working with.
> Manufacturer : eMachines
> Mainboard : Intel D845GVSR
> Chipset : Intel i845G
> Processor : Intel Celeron D 325J @ 2533 MHz
> Physical Memory : 768 MB
> Video Card : Intel Corporation 82845G/GL/GV/GE/PE Integrated Graphics Device
> Hard Disk : ST340015A (40 GB)
> DVD-Rom Drive : HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4481B
> Monitor Type : LG Electronics L1933TR - 17 inches
> Network Card : Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL (ICH4/ICH4-L) PRO/100 VE Network Connection
> Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 5.01.2600 Service Pack 3
> DirectX : Version 9.0c
And here is the Hauppauge HD PVR system requirements.
* Processor Requirements (minimum):
o Dual core CPU
* Graphics with 256MB memory (or greater)
Note: the playback of high definition H.264 requires a fast CPU and at least 256MB of graphics memory
* Sound card
So am I out of luck, or is there a chance I could use this product? And where do you think the problem would be at, playing back the video, or during the recording phase?
Thanks for any help.
