Re: BIOS Problem
I'm thinking that because you set up XP without the Sata drivers it will not run in Sata mode, how many IDE devices do you currently have? With Sata set to auto it will be seen as the IDE 1 Primary drive. from the manual> Auto When there is no device to be plugged in IDE1 or IDE2, SATA controller will
remap to IDE controller. (Default Value)
SATA Port0 Configure as
This item will available when "On-chip SATA" set at "Manual".
IDE Pri. Master Remap SATA Port 0 to IDE Pri. Master.
IDE Pri. Slave Remap SATA Port 0 to IDE Pri. Slave.
IDE Sec. Master Remap SATA Port 0 to IDE Sec. Master.
IDE Sec. Slave Remap SATA Port 0 to IDE Sec. Slave.
SATA Port0 SATA controller set to SATA port0. As this mode, it support by WinXP orlater OS only. (Default value)
SATA Port1 SATA controller set to SATA port1. As this mode, it support by WinXP or
later OS only.
So to boot from the Sata drive you need to set Sata Port0 IDE Pri. Master Remap SATA Port 0 to IDE Pri. Master.
And remove one of the IDE drives from the IDE controller and set the other as slave.
If you want to use all three drives then you will need to install the Sata driver from the motherboard manufacturer when installing XP because MS never included them on the XP disks.
