Re: How to install new WD Sata2 Hard Drive?

Hi Thanks,
Yes, I did disable the raid in the bios.It still did not make it bootup. Problem is still there.
I disconnected the sata cable of the new 750gb drive from the motherboard 's sata controller. Then booted the system with the old 250gb hard drive. It did boot fine, and let me work with my xp as normal. I then connected new drive 's sata cable back to the motherboard. Then I used Partition Magic, which detected the new 750gb hard drive,to partition and format it,which it did with no problem. So now the new drive is ready. But when I re-booted the system,as before, durning the boot process, the cursor just hang next to the 750gb drive and keeps blinking and would not proceed to the bottem of the screen.
I wonder if it has got anything to do with the chip, which may not accept larger hard drives?
I did buy 500gb hard drive few months ago and it worked fine without changing anything in the bios. I wanted to have 750gb hard drive so I sold 500gb HD and bought this one.How else can I make it work???????
Thanks
