Yes, I've saved files on it. I've actually hard this drive for over a year. And last week my laptop was diagnosed with a virus I couldn't get rid of. I restored back to factory settings. But before I did that I copied all my photos, music and videos to my external WD drive.

When I rebooted I plugged it up and downloaded my photos from the external to the laptop.

A few days later I replugged it to get the music and it wouldn't show up.
