Hi again tetonbob, I would like to thank you once again for your help, my computer is running fine and I have microsoft update set to auto I also tend to use firefox instead of Explorer as it's safer. I will have a look through Windows XP forum to see if anyone else has the same problem with bsod before I submit a post. you have been a great help thx.
