Help! My laptop is possessed!
My Toshiba satellite m100 laptop is showing some fairly peculiar symptoms. It started out with a problem of sometimes failing to charge (orange led would not show up, or would go out and not come back on and start battery charging until battery pulled out and put back in). Soon after, the Toshiba power cord no longer even registered – so we got a new power cord, which charged the battery, but we are unable to run the laptop without the battery in. Now, the battery charges until deciding to drop from 99% to 3% and stay there, at 3% beeping and going nowhere. It stops charging, too – and turns off eventually (probably when it actually runs out of battery). You must remove and replace the battery to get it charging again.
So – any ideas? I thought new battery, but am not certain, as shouldn't the power cord be able to start the laptop without the battery in? (I did manage this once today, but usually, it doesn't work).
Save me from my laptop's weirdness!
Thanks,
Jess
Oh also, it is out of warranty and was bought in Malaysia, so Toshiba here have refused to repair or order parts for it. I'm sure I could get it fixed if I knew the prob though.
