As long as your Mac
meets these requirements, you'll be fine installing Tiger. So, ya, I'd find a retail copy of Tiger, use CCC to clone the internal drive to the external, then use the Tiger disk to format and then install it to the internal drive. Just remember, Tiger comes on a DVD, so you need a DVD reader.
