Vista Quick Launch icon file help?

Ok, this will be a little hard to explain, but in my quick launch folder (the icons on the bottom toolbar of my screen) i have website links that i click on to open them up. when i saved them as favorites i just dragged and dropped them there and the icon that was associated with them was the actual icon associated with that particular website. a tomato for Rotten Tomatoes, the DVDTalk icon for this website, etc... follow?

so all of a sudden yesterday, the icons went to blank generic icons..

it is the icon in upper left corner. 5 websites changed to those for no reason whatsoever. i liked having the website icon so as to know what it was just by site. no rhyme or reason why they changed.

can anyone help me get them back. i also tried saving as favorites and dragging them again but eventhough the correct icons are in my favorites folder when i drag to quick launch they instantly become generic. i also did a system restore to an earlier point.

hope that was clear enough and hope someone can help. thanks in advance!!
