Random Hitching

Hello!

I'm new to the forums and was recommended by a friend who have asked you guys questions before, so here it goes.

My new build:

EVGA 780i nforce mobo
4gigs patriot 1066 ddr2 ram
Intel core 2 duo 3.0 ghz
EVGA 8800 gt gfx card
750 watt oz gaming psu
500g WD hd
Zalman heatsink.

So the question I have now is, every once in a while my computer starts hitching, as in it will freeze on a frame, up to about 15 seconds max and then continues. Usually playing a game when it happens. I check my temps using SpeedFan and everything is fine it seems, except my MCP temps are hitting 57 degrees. Everything else is below 45.

The thing that boggles my mind is that i can play for hours and hours on end and be fine, then i'll come back later, play for an hour or so and it starts doing it. On a fresh restart of the machine it will be fine. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm thinking maybe update the bios on the mobo (even though I'm hesitant to because of the bad things being said about the new versions)? Or a driver issue somehwhere? Maybe a memory hiccup? Thanks in advance for your time.
