Hello all, I am in dire need of help with my DVD-ROM Drive, otherwise I will have to send my computer in to the company where they will wipe the HDD.
I know how to burn DVDs and everything, and my computer has had no problem with it, up until yesterday. I was using my usual program to burn a DVD with, but this time --for the 1st time-- about 15% into the burning process, it came up with a dialogue box that said "Cannot set address for....." and then it displayed a bunch of numbers below that. Now, everytime I insert a blacnk DVD of any kind, any brand, what have you, you can hear the laser in the drive bouncing around like it's trying to read a badly scratched disc whereas the discs are spotless, and after about minute, it spits them out. I have run virus scans, done a system restore and had the drivers reinstalled, but to no avail. BUT!!!!! Here is the weird thing: It will read any other disc I stick in there perfectly! It makes no sense. Can any of you guys help me with this problem? If you can help me with this and stop them from having to wipe my HDD for no real reason, then you are the best person ever!!!

Thanks alot, guys!
I didn't know if this was the right forum to post this in, but I am pretty sure that it is a problem with Vista.....
