AIM/MSN Disconnecting (Possible Router Issue)

Hi, I am currently using AIM 5.9.6089 on a very ancient IBM with Windows XP/SP2 and my problem is that I disconnect from AIM every 10-20 minutes, I am hard wired into a Linksys BEFSX41 with Firmware Version: 1.50.18.

I have tried to port forward some different AIM port numbers into my router yet I still disconnect, I also disconnect from Windows Messenger 4.7.3001 and as well I disconnect on Windows Messenger on Xbox Live. These are the only services I disconnect from, everything else I can stay connected to for days on end, so that is why I think it most likely has something to do with the router and possible ports.

There are two other computers on my network which I have not tried using AIM on so I am not sure if the problem just has to do with the relative age of the computer I am using.

Somebody please help this has been going on for too long.
