Thanks for your suggestion, but I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling this printer about 2 dozen times now, using the drivers on the CD that came with the printer as well as drivers downloaded from the Dell site. Still the problem persists. Just to be fair, I tried once again, following the exact method you suggested, and again, it immediately reported that "There was an error in the installation of your hardware. Some features may not work properly." And the message was correct. I still can't scan. Any other ideas?
