My System

I need a laptop!

I'm looking for a new laptop for university (so I'd like it to last 4 years) and I'm not sure what to buy. I'll start with the questions in the stickied topic.

Budget: I can spend up to $1500 CDN (including software, shipping, etc.)

Screen: I'd like a 14" screen, but I can handle up to 15.4" (bigger is hard to carry)

Brands: I just want good quality.

Mobility: It will be carried with me at all times so not too heavy. And battery life... the longer the better! 5+ hours is ideal.

Durability: As long as it can take sitting in a backpack getting pushed around by textbooks, it's good.

Multitasking: I'll be doing some multitasking. Nothing a dual-core processor can't handle.

Gaming: Not extensively. Mostly just Starcraft and older classics.

Calculations: Photoshop maybe. Plus some Windows Movie Maker.

Storage: I'm thinking 160GB. It will mostly be old games and office documents.

Optical Media: DVD burner is a must for backup.

Operating System: Windows Vista

Location: I live in Canada (and cannot order online besides Dell)

Any suggestions? I'd like something somewhat futureproof. (Will last at least a few years)
