Blingblingg has it right. If you don't have space to copy your files out from your 1tb drive, you might need to buy a second USB drive. Add this first to your WHS storage, then copy (move) in from your existing 1tb drive to your shared folders. When your existing drive has been emptied, you can add it to the storage as well so that you can switch on duplication which adds redundancy against disk errors. If you do have enough space in your networked PCs then you can use that instead.
When creating shared folders, do it from the WHS Console rather than Win Explorer so that the share permissions get set up properly.
