Re: IE or Firefox don't find internet

tippem,

I went to the support page for your Netgear router and something troubles me. It's saying to login to the router via 192.168.1.1. The IPs you've been reporting for your PC are 10.0.0.3 or 10.0.0.1. Either you changed the IP addressing scheme of your router or there are some incorrect settings on your Vista's IP settings that are using 10.0.0.x instead of the netgear router's default IP network of 192.168.1.x.

This would explain why you can't ping or access anything from Vista. Try manually configuring your Vista Wireless IP settings as follows:

IP Address 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway Address: 192.168.1.1
DNS Address: 192.168.1.1

Reboot and see if you can get to the router - open up IE in vista, go to:

192.168.1.1

The router's username is:

admin

The router's password is either:

password

or

1234

Try this and let me know what happens.
