Re: WGR614 V6 NETGEAR Router and Vista - Computer can't find router

The problem isn't with my laptop but with my desktop.

I didn't upgrade from XP, but I did a clean install. After that clean install, I started having problems with the desktop not recognizing the router. If I toy with it, the desktop will recognize the router as a "Residential Gateway" and it functions just fine - allowing my desktop to connect to the interent with the following connection:

Desktop -> Router -> Cable Modem

The Router, whether it is connected to the desktop or not, is always online. In otherwords, the connection between the Modem and the Router is sound. The connnection between the desktop and the Router is where I am experiencing this issue.

I have checked, rechecked, and bought new cables. Nothing.

Again, after some "toying" I can get it to work. The problem exists one reboot.

Thanks for your patience with my lack of clarity about the issue I'm having.
