Re: System restart button

loraandbush,

Some PCs have a "RESET" button, which is different from "RESTART". Restart is an orderly software reboot that you perform from within Windows. "RESET" is a rather forced, hardware reset that slams the system down and resets it WITHOUT doing an orderly shutdown of Windows.

Most systems that have RESET buttons have the RESET button switch wired directly to pins on the PC's motherboard. You need to check with your PC/Motherboard manual to see where these pins are located on your motherboard. If properly wired to the RESET button on the PC's case, pressing this button should cause a hardware RESET.
