Personally, I prefer
Avira as part of a free, multi-layered solution, but you'll find many here who stick by AVG even as it changes.
At the bottom of the link you give, you'll see there's a link to AVG 8 Free.

Of course, it takes you to a selection page, but the free version is there on the left.
